I had been trying to get a good shot on a deer for six years with my favorite 1971 Bear Takedown Recurve and the cedar arrows I make at home. I was starting to think it would never happen until this one stood in my shooting lane one fine November evening just like a target. To my amazement, the arrow when right where I practiced so many hundreds of times. This is still my biggest deer ever with any weapon - 10 points and dressed 190. Very tasty fellow too! It's been 7 seasons since, and I still haven't arrowed another one. But I keep trying!
